GST Collection Rises 7.3% to 1.77 Lakh Crore in December

What is GST?

Goods and Service Tax (GST) is an indirect tax.

Businesses has to pay this tax to government but they just increase the prices of products to maintain their profit. 

So indirectly PUBLIC has to pay this tax.

GST was introduced at 1 July 2017.

There are 4 types of GSTs in our nation.

1. CGST (Central goods and services tax)
2. SGST (State Goods and Services Tax)
3. UTGST (Union Territory Goods and Services Tax)
4. IGST (Integrated Goods and Services Tax)

India has taken inspiration of GST system from Canada.

Every month government tells us, how much GST they have collect? This month's (December's) total GST collection is 1.77 lakh crore.

Who monitor's indirect taxes in India? 

CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs) takes care of administering matters related to all the indirect tax in India.
